RV Industry sales are down according to the RV Industry Association March 2023 survey of manufacturers which showed that total RV shipments ended the month with 31,869 units, a decrease of 50.8% compared to 64,778 units shipped in March 2022. To date RV shipments are down 54.3% compared to 78,600 units.
Towable RV’s led by travel trailers ended the month down 53.7% against March of last year with 27,404 shipments. Motorhomes finished the month down 20.2% compared to March of 2022 with 4,465 units. Finally, park model RVs finished up 42.5% compared to the same month last year with 540 wholesale shipments.
The increase in park model RVs and decrease in industry sales of other types is perhaps showing an interest in less expensive long term housing and less disposable income to purchase a purely recreational vehicle.
