We wanted to share some information from the article titled “RVIA Sets Another Shipment Record in April: 51,813 Units” found in the latest edition (Volume 52 No. 7 July 7 2021) of the Woodall’s Campground Magazine.
The latest RV Industry Associations (RVIA) April 2021 survey of manufacturers shows total RV shipments ended the month with 51,813. This was the most RV shipments for any April on record! In fact a new shipment record has been set for each of the previous 6 months! “Year to date, manufacturers have shipped 200,320 units compared to 107,606 units during the same period in 2020 – a 53.7% increase” Woodallscm.com.
Demand has caused RV’s sales to explode over the last year. A recent survey from RVIA showed that 56 million Americans are planning on traveling this summer in an RV they own, rent or borrow. According to RVIA President and CEO Craig Kirby, “We know people plan to go RVing because of their interest in exploring the great outdoors, their newfound flexibility to work or attend school remotely, and their desire to spend time with family. These are not short-term, pandemic-related reasons but rather speak to the long-term appeal of RVs” Woodallscm.com.
The RV industry is experiencing explosive growth. Consumer demand for RVs has never been higher resulting in full parks. Investors transitioning from other traditional asst types are attracted to RV parks due to higher potential returns and lower barriers to entry.
